Readiness Training

A young man training a push-up with kettlebells in a gym.

Sitting, typing, and staring at screens has left us all hunched over and frustrated. This class covers the movements and techniques I consider essential to restore our bodies.

We begin and end each class with a few minutes of breathing, followed by waking up the body to the movements we’ll be using. The class covers 3-5 exercises at an intensity that will energize you for the day ahead.

Mondays focus on lower-body stability and explosive strength, Wednesdays focus on upper-body mobility, and Fridays focus on rotation and integrating movement patterns.

  • 1 class: $25

  • Once a week: $50/month

  • Twice a week: $70/month

  • Unlimited: $100/month

FAQs

What is the class structure?

Each class begins and ends with a few minutes of breathing, practicing a pattern or principle used during that day’s exercises. Afterwards, we will practice the pattern with dynamic warm-up before 3-5 exercises of around 4 working sets.

What kind of stuff is covered on Fridays?

Friday classes are a chance for me to explore topics I consider critical to healthy movement and living that aren’t easily categorized as upper or lower body. Planned topics include proper gait mechanics to optimize walking, running, and sprinting; force generation for practical strength; and falling & rolling techniques to mitigate risk.

I’ve got an old injury that’s affecting me, will I be able to take this class?

That depends! Some injuries will be manageable on certain class topics; for example, creaky knees will be more of a nuisance during Wednesday’s lower body work than Monday’s upper body training. That said, every injury is unique, and I can’t tell you more about your situation without details from you. Send me a message below and I’ll consider your case personally.

I can’t make any of the class times! What should I do?

I’m sorry to hear that! These classes are timed so people can come in before work, but if there’s another time that you are available, let me know! I will add a 4 pm slot Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as well as small-training groups focusing on resolving the same issue in the future.
