FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What makes these group classes different from other fitness classes?

Roots, Trunk and Branches form a holistic system that teaches you how to assess and address imbalances in your body. If the high-intensity Branches class seems impossible, start with Roots. The low-intensity work there will teach you self-assessment skills, build your confidence in your body and its movements, and improve the way you sit, stand, and feel. Trunk will give you the tools to anchor your movements in your core, and after a few months the once-impossible Branches should be in reach.

Do I need to be in shape before I start?

No! Many people start because they don’t feel ‘in shape’. Come as you are, and I will help you move forward at a pace that’s safe, sustainable, and substantive.

Can I still train with injuries or chronic pain?

I would recommend those with injuries or chronic pain begin by attending a Roots class, which will provide the assessment tools for how to move forward. Trunk and Branches classes are intense enough to potentially aggravate an injury.

Do you also teach Muay Thai?

Yes! All Muay Thai training is done in coordination with Muay Thai Iyarin, where I teach classes and offer private lessons as well. Feel free to contact either of us to learn more.

What happens during the free consultation?

The free consultation is a no-pressure phone conversation where we’ll discuss your goals and what I can offer you. We’ll cover your training history, injuries or limitations, concerns you may have, and whether Tree of Life could help you on your path. Even if you choose not to train with us, you’ll leave the conversation with more clarity on what your next steps should be.

What if I have to reschedule a private lesson?

If you can reschedule your lesson 24 hours before your scheduled lesson, no worries! Day-of cancellations will not be accommodated and are charged in full.
